02.09.2006: What the hell have I been listening to?  Well, my iPOD is still busted, so I've relegated to listening at my computer.  So ultimately I end up just listening to whatever mp3s I've got on my hardrdive at the moment...  This ends up with there being an aspect of repetitiveness.  A lot of repetitiveness.  Then suddenly you remember an album you haven't heard in a few months or possibly years and you dig it out and enjoy it like its new.

PIG: Praise the Lard

This is the only Pig album I have, despite thoroughly enjoying Raymond Watt's contribution on all the KMFDM albums out there.  One day my brother passed this along to me, and it really good.  And apparently an unofficial release from some recordings Pig did in the early 1990s, which were released without the license, permission or knowledge of Pig or Raymond Watts.  Looking at the liner notes it kind of shows, the artwork is just the cover repeated and mirrored.  And I suppose the technical aspects of the recording aren't the greatest, but damn if the music doesn't rock.

Also from what I've read, this album is quite a departure from all the other Pig albums.  I can imagine because the variety to types of songs is pretty high, with some of the songs like Angel or Touch of Upheaval (which has been called Pig's worst song ever) which are very different, or something very strong and in the vein of KMFDM like Sick City or Gravy Train.

If you don't know Pig's sound but like KMFDM, then I suggest you check them out.  I would almost say they are like different sides to the same coin.

So there it is.  That's some of what I'm listening to, and I left you two links to check out.  Don't say I never gave you nothin.

thanks for listening.
